Nyege Nyege Festival announces Skrillex, Kampire, DJ Travella, more for 2025 Performances
Collectives from across the continent of Africa will also appear, including Group Therapy and Ile Ijo (Nigeria), Fabrika (Ethiopia), Singeli Movement (Tanzania), Transit (Ghana).
As with every edition, the 10th anniversary edition will be built around a particular theme, in this case, the concept of Ekigunda Ky’omuliro, or The Gathering Of The Flame. In a statement about the event, organisers said: “Ten years later, Nyege Nyege remains a space where music, culture, and community converge. This edition celebrates our journey and the limitless future ahead — with our artists, collectives, and audiences shaping the next chapter of this iconic gathering.”
24-hour programming and a few new elements will all feature at this year’s edition, including The Portal Stage, which will focus primarily on Afrohouse, Amapiano, House, and 3-step, and traditional music and performances from the likes of Patrick Atude, Nakibembe, Batwa Dancers, Intare Performance Group, and Otim Alpha.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Nyege Nyege will also introduce the world to the inaugural edition of the African Electronic Music Conference (AEMC) in collaboration with the French Development Agency (AFD), which will offer artists a platform to network and showcase their work.
